wow. what a Year.

So, it's been awhile since I've posted anything. A LOOOOONG while. And there has been semi-good reason for it.

First and probably most important, they did the unthinkable.

I blogged for DAYS about TPTB not killing off Elizabeth Mitchell's character on Lost, and what did they do on the season finale? They dropped her down a 60 ft. well, then, when she actually "survived" the fall, she blew up a hydrogen bomb with a rock. Yeah, that's right. I said it. They wrote it. She fell 60 feet onto broken metal and the ground, survived, only to blow herself up with a hydrogen bomb. I'm going to let you sit there for a minute and let that all sink in...

Waiting.

Waiting.

Ok, you done? I was beyond pissed. I was cussing, and screaming, and crying, and cussing somemore that I couldn't even believe it. And yes, I get VERY attached to my characters and TV shows. Don't judge.

Anyways, Elizabeth Mitchell is supposedly going to still be in season 6 (the final season) but only for a couple episodes. I'm still pissed, and if she's only in the first three episodes of the season, then I'll probably only watch the first three episodes of Lost this season. Still. Mad.

On a better note for Elizabeth Mitchell...

Elizabeth is staring in a new show on abc called V. It's a take-off/remake of the original V series. I probably wouldn't have started watching had a Elizabeth Mitchell not been in it, but it's actually really good, and not just because Elizabeth is in it. It's kind of exciting and interesting. These aliens are trying to take over the planet but they look just like humans so you can't tell whose good and whose bad. Plus, there are some "v's" who are good and are trying to help the humans fight the bad v's. It sounds corny and lame, but it's actually pretty good. They only showed 4 episodes during the Fall but they're resuming it again in February. Looking forward to it.

Joblessness and such.

Last time I blogged I had a job. Now, I don't. Well, I do, but it's seasonal and ends in a week. I worked on a reality show over the summer and that was a lot of fun, but haven't really done any production stuff since. I did work the Falcons game as a parab operator, which was REALLY cool, but other than that still looking for stuff. The Falcons game was my first NFL I attended and the first time I had been to the Georgia Dome. It was an awesome experience. PLUS, I got tackled by one of the players and it was caught on national television. My 15 minutes of fame.

Grey's Anatomy and all it's glory.

Grey's Anatomy is my newest renewed addiction. I've always been a Grey's fan, but the past two seasons have taken it to a whole nother level. Yes, I said nother. They have introduced one of the greatest television couples of all time. Callie and Arizona, better known as by fans as Calzona. Yes, they are a lesbian couple. And yes, they are fantastic. There really aren't words to describe my love for this couple. There probably are words, but I don't know them and probably wouldn't be able to spell them anyways. This show, and particularly this couple, have changed my life. They gave me something to look forward to every week when I had absolutely nothing. I'm not sure what I would have done without Grey's coming on every Thursday. The last episode aired the week before Thanksgiving, and it wasn't even a very good one, so I've been watching reruns to try to get me to January 14th, when Grey's and Calzona, returns. Still counting the days...

Doing my own thing.

In my free time, which has been a lot more than I like seeing as how I have no real job, has been spent writing. I'm writing my first original screenplay. I really like it a lot, but at the current moment it's waaaaaay too long for a screenplay, so I'm thinking of making it into a book. I'm not really a book writer though. I don't even like books. I'd much rather watch a movie than read a book, but maybe that will change. Who knows.

And everything else...

Other than that, life hasn't been much. Seen some good movies, including Avatar in 3-D, by James Cameron. He's one of my favorite directors ever, at least in this generation. Alfred Hitchcock being the other one. One of my all time favorite movies is The Abyss, also by Cameron, and then he went and made this movie and it's just... magical. No other words really.

But I've felt I've neglected this blog, not that anybody reads it or anything, so I felt the need to come back. Maybe writing this will help.

To the new year.

Here's to 2010 being better than 2009.

Until tomorrow,
Peace.

ps - tomorrow, I talk about my life changing cross-country road trip. excited.

i really need to do this more Often

So, once again, I've been slacking on my blogger duties. It's a good thing no one really reads them, or I would feel bad. I've actually just been really busy lately. The past two weeks I've been helping friends with their student projects at school. And by student projects I mean, 5-10 min short films. Don't underestimate the power of a student project. Anyways, I've been doing that so that's kept me kinda busy, and when I wasn't doing that, I was at work. I hate work. But I only got 2 months left before I have to leave and find something else. woopee.

Dell computers and the shitty virus software that comes with them.

I've had my tell just under 3 years now, and I've had a total of 4 viruses since. WTF, Dell? Or should I say, WTF, McAfee? McAfee Virus protection can shove it! It hasn't protected me once against these viruses and it sucks. Four times I've had to reset my computer to factory settings which means losing all my files. Luckily the last two times, I've had most, not all, of my files backed up somewhere. It still really sucks though even if you do have the files backed up. What a pain in the ass. WTF, Dell and McAfee?! WTF?

Prison Break misfortune...

So, as excited as I was about Prison Break returning I have yet to actually get to sit down and watch an episode. Who's pissed? I am. For the first episode, I was at work and had to watch it with these two really, really, annoying people who wouldn't shut the F*** up! It was so annoying! And to top it off they didn't speak very good english so they kept repeating things over and over again. I can't even describe how annoying it was. So, needless-to-say, I didn't actually get to watch it. I also thought the episode started at 8pm, but it actually started at 9pm. So I naturally assumed that the second episode would start at 9pm, but no, it started at 8pm, so I missed it that one too. I'm still a little bitter about the whole situation.

Lost

Lost was a "special episode" last week, which just means it was a recap of everything we already knew. Boring. It also means, we didn't get to see Elizabeth Mitchell again. Extremely boring. But, this week's episode is the 100th episode of the series and I am guarenteed to see Elizabeth in this episode. I'm so excited. I saw a clip with her and Saywer, and they were kind of arguing so I'm a little nervous, but I think I should be okay. Also, they keep saying that the major character that's going to die is a "majorly major" character. Now, as far as I'm concerned, Juliet is not that major of a character. I mean, she only joined in season 3, and people still don't like/trust her, so for some reason I just don't think she's "major" enough to be the one killed off. Or at least not the only one. And I did already find out who one of the people was that's going to be killed off, and if that's the only person then, I wouldn't be upset. But for some reason, I don't think they will be the only one...

Table for 12 is better than Jon and Kate: Plus 8

Table for 12 is TLC's new big family reality show, and it is so good. I can't even watch Jon and Kate anymore because of it. The parents are so much cooler than Jon and Kate, well at least Kate. I hate Kate Gosselin. I always have, she was the number one reason for me not liking the show. I still watched it, but it was so hard because I just could not stand Kate. But now, I can't even watch it anymore period. After seeing how Betty and Eric Hayes treat each other, and their children, I have so much more respect for them than the Gosselins. The Gosselin kids are still cute, except for Mady, but I feel like the way they grew up, on camera, is making them spoiled and bratty. Maybe that's just me though. But I'm definitely all for the Hayes family, all 12 of them!

Crushes

A crush can be the most excruciating pain in the world. When you have that crush, and you know nothing is going to happen but you have no choice but to hang around that person, it sucks. It sucks big. Why must we be tortured so?

Until tomorrow.

prison break is coming back and More!

I'm so excited to see Prison Break coming back to television. The only downside is it will only be back for 5 episodes before they take it off the air for good. Prison Break started out as a really good show. It was fresh, and new, and hadn't really been done in the same way before. The problem was, you can only try to break out of a prison for so long before you 1) fail, or 2) break out. And once you break out, like they did in the show, then what do you do? I think the writers soon figured out they had a huge problem on their hands once their main characters broke out of the first prison. Yes, they've broken out of more than one. That's how desperate they got. But, I personally didn't mind the writers block. The new twists and stories added a little something to the show and allowed for new characters to be introduced and for old ones, that we didn't like, to go away. One of my favorite new characters that was introduced last season was Sofia Lugo, played by Danay Garcia. They didn't really give her character much to do, but she was smokin' hot. I mean one-of-the-most-beautiful-people-I've-ever-seen, hot. What really pissed me off during this current, and final, season was the way they just eliminated Danay's character. They acted like she never even existed. No name mention, no cameo, nothing. And that more than anything pisses me off, in any show or movie, no matter what. I'm a huge sucker for storylines. I get very, very involved with my stories and with my characters, so to just take out a character without any sort of closure is by far my #1 pet peeve in tv and movies. That and killing off main characters, especially females. But, from what I hear, they are bringing Sofia back for the final episodes, and as long as they don't kill her off, I am BEYOND happy! I can't wait!! Prison Break, Friday on FOX, 8pm.

Lost

Elizabeth Mitchell, Juliet, wasn't in this past week's episode of Lost. The entire episode focused on Ben. I don't personally feel like we learned anything new, but it was still an okay episode. Next week though, Juliet, and the rest of the characters, do return, and I have a feeling we might see on of them in a body bag. My guess is Daniel, so I won't be too terribly upset, but the episode focuses on Miles and his ability to talk to the dead. Should be interesting.

How bout them Braves!

The Atlanta Braves are 5-1 to start the season, which is really, really good for them. The starting pitching has been outstanding, and the bats have been great, too. The Braves hit a home run in the first inning of their first three games to start the season. The team would have been 6-0 if it hadn't been for their sorry bullpen that blew a 7 run lead. It really was one of the most depressing things I've even seen in baseball. But, the Braves moved on and ended up sweeping the Washington Nationals at home. Can't wait for the rest of the season and it's only just begun!

Slumdog Millionaire

I bought Slumdog Millionaire last week. Watch it. Buy it. Love it.
That's all I really have to say.

Until tomorrow.

georgia weather Sucks

The weather in Georgia is absolutely ridiculous. I mean really. On Monday it can be 75 degrees and sunny, and then on Tuesday it will be snowing. Seriously. I don't even have the luxury of making that up. It really happens that way. It's horrible. Georgia has the worst weather ever. It never knows what season it wants to be. One you're sunbathing, the next you're pulling out your winter coat. And what sucks even more is the constant thermostat changing. Does Georgia weather realize how expensive it is to keep turning the heat on and off? I'll tell it. Hella expensive! Wtf, Georgia. WTF?

ER

ER ended its 15 year run on NBC last week. It was bittersweet. And in my own opinion it was about 8 years too late. ER was one of my favorite shows of all time back in the day. I was a religious watcher. Never, EVER, missed an episode. And if I did, I cried. I was that in to it. I loved it. I started watching somewhere in the middle of the first season. One of the episodes I first remember watching live was "Love's Labor Lost," where Mark Greene misdiagnosed a pregnant woman, who ended up dying after giving birth to her first child. It was such a powerful episode.

ER was my first real introduction to George Clooney. I remember thinking, "who is THAT?!" He was the finest man I think I had ever seen, and still probably holds true to this day. I fell in love with George that day. I remember watching the episode "Hell and High Water" during the second season. Clooney's character, Doug Ross, was about to be fired from his job when he ends up saving this boy from a storm drain. It was such an amazing episode. I remember holding my breath and everything. It was so good. And I'm pretty sure that was the first episode of the series where they went outside the hospital for an episode. It was just so good. Clooney should have definitely, without question, won an award for that episode.

Clooney left ER during season 5. Julianna Margulies, who played Carol Hathaway, left in season 6, and ER was never the same. They kept bringing in all these new characters to try to '"replace" the old ones, but it was just impossible. Seasons 7 and 8 weren't too bad, but once they killed off Mark Greene in the middle of season 8, the show really started to go downhill. The only character/actor to be in all 15 seasons, besides the nurses, was Carter, played by Noah Wyle, and even he went on hiatus for the last 2 seasons.

As much as I loved it, I was glad to see it end. And what made it even better was they brought back a lot (A LOT) of the old characters in the last season, even the ones who died. It was a flashback, chill. Of all the characters that left and came back for the last season, there was: George Clooney, Julianna Margulies, Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, Sherry Stringfield, Eriq La Salle, Alex Kingston, Laura Innes, and Shane West. Not bad.

Want to give a little shout out to all the nurses/EMT characters/actors that were also there from the beginning: Laura Ceron, Deezer D, Yvette Freeman, Emily Wagner, Lynn Henderson, Abraham Benrubi, Lily Mariye, Montae Russell, Ellen Crawford, and Dinah Lenney. Some honorable mentions are: William H. Macy, Amy Aquino, Connie Marie Brazelton, Troy Evans, John Aylward, Demetrius Navarro, and Bellina Logan.

ER had a great run. But I'm glad its over.

Lost

There has been some talk that two major characters will die on Lost by the end of the season. The producers/writers/TPTB, have said that it will be characters that are in love with other characters on the show, and also characters that we, the audience, like.

Now. If one of the characters is Elizabeth Mitchell, I'm going to have to fight someone. But here is my theory... Elizabeth's character, Juliet, is not a character that too many fans are attached to. When she first appeared everyone, except me, hated her, but now people are "growing" to like her. And now that she is with Sawyer, I think more and more people are beginning to like her, except for maybe the Kate/Sawyer shippers. But because of this, I don't think they would kill her off. Plus, she hasn't really served her/a purpose yet as a character. She's been on since the beginning of season 3, and has yet to really "do" anything. In other words, they had to bring her character on for a reason, and so far, there hasn't really been one, or else why bring her character on at all? My only other worry about them killing off Juliet is her name. The producers, or someone, has said that her character is named after the character from Romeo and Juliet. Now, unless there is some other Romeo and Juliet that I don't know about, that Juliet kills herself. Wtf, producers. WTF? I also have yet to see the connection between the two Juliets, as well. Supposedly, the creators don't do anything unless there is a reason, so if they specifically named her Juliet for a reason, what is it? And they've said that Juliet will be in the last season, but that doesn't mean they can kill her, and then magically bring her back like they've done with some other characters. That doesn't count. All I know is they better not kill her off. I mean it.

I think that's all for now. I've rambled enough.

Until tomorrow.

Don't really have much to say since the last blog. Just a few notes.

Lost

Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) is still alive. And that's all that really matters.

Until tomorrow.

i hate american Idol

This season of Bones is being aired on Thursday nights at 8pm on FOX, as opposed to last year when it aired on Mondays. The only problem is FOX likes to air American Idol at that same time. Now, how in the WORLD does a network air two programs at ONCE?! The answer: they don't. Instead, they boot Bones off the air every other week so that lame ass American Idol can be on instead. WTF?! It pisses me off so much that they boot one program off so that another "better" one can be on instead. It's not even a better show, it just happens to have more ratings... supposedly. I just can't even get over it. Pissed.

Sickness and the power of OTCs

I was pretty sick most of the weekend which sucked. Thursday night I was so sick. I had a hard time breathing, plus I had a fever. And for those that know me, I don't do doctors, so I was not about to go to the doctor. Instead, I popped a Pepcid and some Motrin, let them settle and then hit the bed around 5am Friday morning. It pretty much sucked Friday too, because I had to go to work and we had so much stuff we had to do, that I don't think it helped me much. Then Saturday morning I was helping a friend with auditions and still felt pretty crappy but made it through. What can I say? I'm a trooper. I'm better now, still get headaches off and on, but that's nothing new to me. But I always say, there's nothing that can't be fixed with the proper amount of OTCs (over-the-counter drugs), certain diseases and ailments excluded, of course.

Footloose Remake

Some dumbasses with a lot of money decided they wanted to remake the classic movie Footloose, with none-other-than, Zack Efron. When I heard they were remaking the movie to begin with I was pissed, but when I heard Efron was going to be the leading man, I was livid to no extent. But... apparently Zack Efron has decided he no longer wants to do "teen musicals." Can I get a "Hallelujah!!" The whole movie relied on whether Zack Efron was going to be in it, so hopefully that means they'll scrap the idea all together. We can only hope.

Remaking Footloose is like remaking The Sound of Music or It's a Wonderful Life. You don't remake those movies! Period.

People who don't respond to messages and emails...

I don't think there is really much to say to this except, wtf? Respond to your messages. People took the time to write them to you, the least you could do is take 2 seconds to say something (anything) back. Think about it.

I guess that's all for now.

Until tomorrow.

all that good Stuff

So, it's been a week since my last blog, but that's because I've been super busy since then. But I got some time now, especially since I can't sleep, to blog, so here I am.

Side note: I am currently listening to one of my favorite songs as I type this. It's "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher" by Jackie Wilson. This song puts me in the best mood no matter what's going on around me. It's been my song of the week a couple times now. It's just a really great song! Love it.

Spring Break

I spent my Spring Break in LA, as we know, and it was just awesome. I loved it. I loved just hanging out with my friends, not having to worry about anything or do anything. It was so much fun. Got to see a couple more celebs while I was out there too. The biggest was probably Adam Sandler. We saw him at this restaurant called Barney's Beanery. It was a really good restaurant, too. And our waitress was really cute. But that's not why it was so good, it just was. It was a fun environment. What was really cool was the tables had all these pictures of celebrities taken out of magazines and stuff. And the absolutely freaky thing was that out of all the places for me to sit at the table, was that I sat down and right where I was sitting was a huge picture of Debra Messing. Now, that's only important for the people who know my story with Debra Messing. It was so funny because I didn't even realize it was her when I sat down. It took me about 15 minutes before I even realized she was there. Freaky. I think Deb is stalking me...

Overall, it was just a great Spring Break. Really glad I got to go.

The L Word

I didn't get a chance to talk about the season finale of The L Word yet. There's really not much to say. It sucked just like the rest of the season. We still don't know who killed Jenny, but we do know that Alice is the one who gets stuck with it because we know that Leisha Hailey is getting a spin-off where she goes to prison for killing Jenny. WTF? I still can't believe that... Anyways, the semi-good news is that Tasha and Alice are still together, we think. It's not really made clear that they stay together, but since Alice is going to jail, I don't see much of a future there.

The only thing I liked about the finale was the very end when all the characters start walking into the police station. They start out looking very sad, and upset, but then they start smiling. I loved that they were smiling because it looked like they all knew something and that none of them was going to give up the others. It also made it seem like they really weren't that upset about Jenny being dying, which I also liked because none of them had a reason to care that she was gone. The only thing that F'ed up that scene was that they showed Jenny walking in with them at the end. Hello?!! She's suppose to be dead! It ruined what I thought was the only good part of the whole episode. So, when I think about the ending I just picture it without Jenny. The way it should have been.

We were also told during the season that Carmen (Sarah Shahi) would be appearing in the final episode, and we (the remaining fans) got really excited. We didn't know, however, that 1) it would only be for 5 seconds, 2) that it would be via recorded video segment, and 3) that we wouldn't even get to hear what she was saying because the characters were talking over her part. Again, WTF?

It was just, overall, a hugely disappointing ending to a really good show. Sad it had to go out like that.

Nastaha Richardson

Yesterday, the wonderfully talented and beautiful actress, Natasha Richardson died. I couldn't believe it, and still can't. Three days ago she was taking ski lessons and fell, and hit her head. She was fine to begin with, but an hour later complained of a headache. She was considered brain dead, and her family pulled the life support plug, and she died a day later. It's just so sad and tragic for something like this to happen. She was only 45. One of the first movies I saw her in was Nell. I remember her and Liam Neeson, and I remembered how much I loved both of their characters, especially since they ended up together in the end. They got married in real life shortly after, and I was so excited for them. Next time I saw her was in The Parent Trap, the remake. I love that movie, and especially her in it. I loved her character. She did such a good job in that movie. She was also in Maid In Manhattan, another favorite. It's going to be so hard to watch any of these movies now. It's just so hard to believe. She will be deeply, deeply missed.

Lost

Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) is still alive. That's really all that matters. Done.

Portia De Rossi

Portia De Rossi has been one of the loves of my life since I first saw her 10 years ago on Ally McBeal. I've been watching her ever since. I knew her before anyone else. And the fact that she's Australian doesn't hurt at all, either. Portia was on Ellen Monday. Like as a guest, not just there. It was really cute to see them together, and see Ellen interview her wife. The whole segment just made me love Portia even more. She was on the show because Portia has a new tv show that just aired last night (Wednesday). It's a dark comedy, I guess you call it. She plays a character named Veronica, the boss at some company that makes things. I thought it was pretty good. It might take others a few episodes to like it though, but of course, I'm completely and honestly biased on the matter, so it doesn't really matter what I actually think. :) I'll watch anything with Portia, good or bad.

The show airs Wednesday nights at 8:30pm on ABC. (Right before Lost and Elizabeth Mitchell.) Bonus.

The Little Things

I just wanted to say how funny I find it that, now that I've gradutated, there are so many people that want my help. I guess I've been dubbed the "Sound Person," which is cool and all, but now I'm constantly being asked by people to help them on their projects. I don't remember being asked for this much help when I was actually in school. I'm not complaining or anything, I just find it very interesting, and funny. Am I the only person that knows how to do sound? And if so, how sad is that? And it makes me wonder, too, was I their first choice to help, or the last resort since no one else could do it? I just wonder sometimes, ya know...?

I guess that's all I got for now.

Until tomorrow.

my spring break so Far

So, I arrived in LA this past Monday, and have had a blast so far. It has been the ultimate break. It's funny too, because I never went on a "real" Spring Break until now, and now I'm not even in school anymore. Funny.

I didn't get here until Monday night so we didn't really do anything that night except hang, which was fun too.

On Tuesday, we slept in a little. Then we picked up Carrie from the airport and headed over to Melrose and Sunset Blvd. (DJ Sunset Blvd!) After that, we came back and picked up Robbi from the Metro station. After that we met up with Chatfield and headed over to The Grove and got some grub. That was by far the best French Dip sandwich I've ever had. Ever. Really good Black Cherry Soda, too. After that the night had only just begun. We walked down the street at the Grove to see a free concert. The concert was by the Ballas Hough Band. The lead singers were Mark Ballas and Derek Hough from Dancing With The Stars. So, they started our night of celeb sightings... but since they were "celebs" their celeb friends were there too.

The list:
Julianne Hough
Shannon Elizabeth
Cheryl Burke
Lacey Schwimmer
Lil Kim
Cody Linley
Shawn Johnson
Bruno (judge from DTWS)

There were a couple other "celebs" but I didn't really know who they were. Apparently the guy who showed his "goods" in the movie Sex and the City was there too. Also, an athlete was there too, that I didn't know, but that's okay. It was a lot of fun. On Wednesday we went to Hermosa beach. It was pretty cold, and not very sunny, but it was fun. We played some frisbee, which sucked because of the wind, but again, it was fun. Me, Robbi, and Carrie went walking on the beach. Scof and Mitch went surfing but the waves weren't really there. That night we went out, got drunk, and don't really know what else happened.

We went to Hollywood on Thursday. Got to see Kodak Theatre, Gramuns Chinese Theatre, and some of the stars on the Walk of Fame. It was pimp. Also, got to meet up with my Lost World friend Marline (Leener) and we went and had lunch. It was really good seeing her again. I haven't seen her since my freshmen year of college. It was really nice.

We also got to go to the Griffith Park Observatory where they filmed Rebel Without A Cause, one of my favorite movies. It was really cool. We got to see Saturn, the planet, and that was cool, too, especially since one of my favorite movies was filmed there.

Tonight we went to a bar called Happy Ending. We saw Vinnie Jones there. He's a lot shorter than I thought he was but still a good looking guy. We got tipsy, again, and I was hit on by a male bartender. The only reason I didn't mind was because he gave me more alcohol than normal and let me skip in front of everyone else. He was cool. Thanks guy.

Until tomorrow.

friday before spring Break

When I got to work today, I found out that our building is closing at 8pm instead of 10pm. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but not when I'm already missing so much time from my paychecks. All someone had to do was tell me we were closing early, and I could have come in early. This sucks.

On a happier note, I got a facebook message from the one-and-only, Ms. Mandy Gonzalez!! For those that don't know, she plays Nina in my favorite Broadway play "In The Heights." I was so excited. I sent her a message complimenting her on her facebook profile picture, and also to tell her how much I love the show. I wasn't expecting her to write back, but she did!! That just goes to show how awesome all the people on ITH are. Don't know if I mentioned it before, but I'm facebook friends with my favorite actress from ITH, Ms. Janet Dacal. They are just they greatest people ever! Can't wait to go see that show again!

When I get back to my apartment, I get to start packing for LA! I can't wait to get over there!! Spring Break 09!

Until tomorrow.

update, update, Update

So, I haven't updated my blog in over a week. It's kinda sad considering on the stuff that has gone on since last week, so its a good thing nobody actually reads this. Let's see. What has happened since last week...

The Drag King Show

I went to a drag king show last Friday with my best friends Carrie and Robbi. It was there first time going, and so much fun. I had been to drag shows before so it wasn't quite the same experience they had, but it was still a lot of fun. It was so crowded there, the most crowded I've ever seen, and it was raining that night which sucked, but it was still a lot fun and I'm so glad we went.

SNOW!!!

So, it snowed and iced this past weekend here in Georgia. I was at home, thank god, because we lost power at my apartment and I would not have been a happy camper. It was really funny though, because all week they were saying it was going to snow over the weekend and I certainly didn't believe them considering it was 65 degrees out when they said it, but I was definitely proven wrong. I got to stay at home an extra day and a half because of it, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The worst part wasn't the snow though, it was the ice. When I got back to my apartment Tuesday night, I slipped and fell and hurt my knee pretty bad. It's in the healing process but still hurts pretty bad. Hopefully the bruise doesn't stay there forever like my softball one. Anyway, don't think we'll see another snow storm in the near future though. It's suppose to be 70 degrees this weekend. But who knows...

The L Word

The L Word sucked as usual this past weekend, which is really a shame considering it was the second to last episode EVER. I think I said something to that effect last week too, and of course, nothing changed. My comments for this week:

1) Still hate Jamie. And I know I said this last time, but I hate her even more now. I'm just so tired of seeing her character. And even worse is that I can't see Tasha and Alice without seeing her too. I understand if they wanna try to make them look really close, but they can't honestly (HONESTLY) be spending all their time together. Why can't we just see Tasha and Alice by themselves for one more time before Alice gets shipped off to jail for killing Jenny.

2) Alice is going to jail for killing Jenny. Ok, I know that didn't actually happen yet, but the synopsis for Leisha Hailey's (Alice) new spin-off, is that she is sent to jail for murdering Jenny Schecter. Really? REALLY?!! WTF?! Who in the world would ever believe that Alice Pieszecki, one of the sweetest people EVER, would murder Jenny Schecter? Accidental killing, maybe. But murder. Why on earth would you ruin a character like that? It just doesn't make any sense. It's bad enough how much they ruined Jenny's character in the last season, but now they are going to F*** with one of the most beloved characters of the entire show...again. (See Dana killing episodes) It just doesn't make sense. At all.

3) Jenny is even more crazy. It's almost like someone has taken over her body and is producing this evil being. I don't really know what else to say about that.

4) Jodi was in this episode. I hate Jodi. Enough said.

On a happier note....

Jennifer Beals looked absolutely stunning this episode. I love when her character doesn't have all that amour on and is trying to be all macho and cold. She got to let loose this episode and it was fun to see. And the dance she did with Laurel Holloman was hot.

I'm happy, and sad, to see The L Word end. What was once a great show, is ending terribly. And the worst part is, it didn't have to. Unlike other shows that just run out of steam after being on the air for so long, this one could have ended GREAT. It's like the writers just didn't care anymore and did whatever they felt like, screw the audience and fans. It just sad.

Movie of the week (since I've seen one every weekend for the last month)

Saw Slumdog Millionaire, again, for the third time this past weekend. Still absolutely amazing.

Elizabeth Mitchell and Lost

So, for a while I decided to give up on the show Lost, but then one of my absolute favorite actress joined the cast in season 3. I have been watching Elizabeth Mitchell since I was 12. I first saw her in Gia, and instead of looking at Angelina Jolie like the rest of the world, I was looking at Elizabeth Mitchell. I found her intriguing. I kind of forgot about her until I saw her again on ER as Dr. Kim Legaspi. Then around that same time she was in the movie Frequency (as a brunette, but that's ok) and I just fell in love with her all over again. She is one of the best actresses out there, but has never been fully recognized until she joined Lost, which is a shame. She was in the pretty successful The Santa Clause 2, with Tim Allen, but never was a true household name, I don't think, until Lost. The only, and I mean ONLY, reason I am currently watching Lost is because of Elizabeth Mitchell. I would worry every episode that they were going to kill her off, and I would have to stop watching. When her character first came appeared everybody hated her, but not me. I loved her! I was so excited to see her on a big show like Lost so she could get her name out there.

The point of all this is that on last night's episode my dream came true. I fully predicted last night's episode over a month ago. Juliet (Elizabeth) and Sawyer are now a couple, three years after the other people left the island. And I so called it. I don't know if they were trying to make it a surprise by not letting us see them together until the end of the episode, but I knew it was coming eventually. Their chemisty was so obvious.

Now. If, the powers that be over at ABC want to keep a fan happy (and watching), they break this couple up. At the end of the episode we see Sawyer reunite with Kate, but I don't care about her. I don't know how long Sawyer and Juliet have been a couple, but they've been living together for the last 3 years. Sawyer and Kate only knew each other for a couple of months. It was lust at first sight. I dare the producers to f*** with this couple, and my emotions, and have Sawyer go back to Kate. I dare them even more to kill off Elizabeth Mitchell, because if they do, it will not be a pretty sight come Thursday, after the show. Do not mess with Juliet and Sawyer! Thank you.

SPRING BREAK 09!

So, I'm going to LA for "Spring Break" (even though I'm no longer in school) next week, and I absolutely can't wait. It's going to be the biggest TELE Kids reunion since we all split up last December. I'm so excited. Plus, I get to see one of my Lost World buddies while I'm there. I can't even begin to show how excited I am. It's going to be so much fun!

I think that's all I got for now.

Note to self: This is why I need to update more frequently.

Until tomorrow.

the weekend, the l word, and Milk

So, this past week, and weekend were pretty uneventful. Friday night was spent at work until 4am. I got there at 2pm. It was exhausting. I don't think I woke up until 4pm the next day, which was kind of nice. Other than that my weekend was kinda chill. Got to see my old friend Ashley, too, which was also nice. We we're suppose to have lunch but she dumped me for another woman... All good though!

The L Word

The L Word was... weak. Again. I feel like the episode get worse every week. I do now officially hate Jenny. I just don't get her anymore. I feel like her character more than any other has changed this season. Maybe its because she's going to die, I don't know. I use to understand why she did what she did before but now, I just don't get it. I don't get where this character is coming from. Here's my list of things that stood out to me:

1) Still hate Jamie. A lot. Maybe even more than before now. Why, oh why, oh why is she there?! It was nice to finally see Alice and Tasha get it on again though. I don't think they've had sex since season 4.

2) Alice and Tasha got it on again. Done.

3) Jenny really, really, really got on my nerves this episode. Like I said, more than ever this time. Just don't get it. She doesn't even see what she's doing, and if she does and is doing it on purpose, than that makes it even worse. I understand she does some things on purpose for attention, but this episode just exploded.

4) Enjoyed the Bette, Tina, Wizzie (or whatever her name was) moments.

Overall, I'm still just amazed this is the final season. I watched Liz Feldman on AE today, and Rose Rollins (Tasha) was the guest. Liz asked her if she was sad the show was ending and she said "No." She said she felt that the show some what betrayed the characters for the final season. It just wasn't good. Now if the actress on the show doesn't think it was good, then what are we, the fans, suppose to think. I mean really.

Milk

Went and saw Milk this past Sunday and it was absolutely amazing. I knew what was going to happen at the end, and I told myself I wasn't going to cry, but I still teared up anyways. The movie was very well put together, and the acting was outstanding. I never saw Sean Penn, the actor, I saw Harvey Milk. He did an excellent job and defintely deserved the Oscar.

That reminds me! The Oscars were last night. Hugh Jackman was the host, and I personally thought he did a fantastic job. He was funny, sincere, and just did a great job. I felt the awards were a little long this year, but I like the little things that made it that way. I loved when they brought out the 5 past winners for the Supporting Actor/Actress, and Best Actor/Actress categories. That was really cool to see them all get to present.

And Slumdog Millionaire won Best Picture which was exciting. They won quite a few other awards which they fully deserved. Kate Winslet finally won her Oscar, also deserved. And I'm not just saying that cause I like her either. I thought the movie she was in sucked but her performance was fantastic. And I don't always agree with who wins that category either, just take a look at Halle Berry winning for Monster's Ball. I hated that movie AND her performance. All in all, though, good show I thought.

Until tomorrow.

the weekend, the l word, & the Reader

So, this weekend I went home to see my mom and my animals. I LOVE going home to see them. I miss them all the time. It was Valentine's Day weekend too, so I took my mom to see Slumdog Millionaire. Yes, I have now paid to see it twice. It was just that good. I really wanted her to see it. And some how, it was even better than the first time I saw it. It was like I got to experience it in a completely different way this time. It was great. Also, at home, my mom and I made brisket, and it was sooo good! My grandma use to make it all the time, and I hated it when I was a kid, but now I love it. So good! And I hung out with my animals, Faline (Beanie), Niquee, Missy, Midget, Bob, Otter and Twin (Princess Fluffy Long Tail). I love them to death. I wish I could bring my Niquee up to Athens with me, but its just too darn expensive to have a pet here. I think she would like it though. She's a loner kitty and needs to be by herself. Anyways, that was the weekend.

Wait, I forgot to mention I got "food poisoning" over the weekend. I took my mom to one of our favorite restaurants for V-Day, and they cooked wax paper into my food. I got sick after 2-3 bites, and didn't realize it was the food. I took it home, thinking the food was okay, and that it was just me, and then the next day, started eating it, got sick again, and then saw the wax paper cooked into the food. It was not a good experience at all. So, don't eat wax paper, ok?

The L Word...

This week's L Word was okay... I thought it was better than last week's, but still not worthy of a series finale season. Several things...

1) Love, love, love Leisha Hailey. She is brilliant. She's the first person of the 5 people to say they hate Jenny, that I actually believe would kill her on the spot. She was fantastic this entire episode. Well, she's pretty good every episode, but still. I loved it.

2) Hate, hate, hate the character Jamie. "I hate Uncle Jamie!" (Sorry, had to throw that in there. It's one of my favorite lines from the movie Love Actually) They need to get her out of the picture, and quick. She's trying to break up Tasha and Alice, even though not on purpose, and it's driving me nuts! Every time I see them together, I get pissed. Long Live Talice!

3) Jenny really is crazy.

4) Not near enough Rose Rollins this episode. It was 30-minutes in before we even got to see her, and then she only had about 2 lines the entire episode. Not cool.

Overall, I don't have much of a general opinion of this episode. It was just okay. "LMFAO" has by far been the best episode of the season, and nothing is even coming close to comparing to it. The preview for next week looks really good though, so I'm hoping for something from that one.

The Reader

Went and saw The Reader last night. Twas not good. The acting was pretty good, and Kate Winslet did do a fantastic job, but the story was just not there. It was long, slow, and boring. Not much to even say about it really. We left the movie laughing, and it definitely was not a comedy. Yeah... not so good. Probably won't be taking the parental to see that one anytime soon.

Until tomorrow.

my life so Far...

So, I haven't been around for a couple of days, and I'm not really sure why. It's not like I have that much to do. I go to work, come home, eat, sleep, and repeat. I've got all these things on my mind though, things I want to be doing, but I feel like I'm not in the right place to do them. I don't know. And I'm still looking for a job. Any job. I've been applying to companies all over the place. But nothings come up yet. Too bad the economy is in such a shit hole...

But at least today is Thursday, and we know what that means. Thursday Night TV! Can't wait.

Until tomorrow.

the grammys and the l Word

The Grammys were last night, and from what I got to watch, they weren't bad. Apparently, I missed what was bad so I'm not too upset about that. The best part of the Grammys was that my musical In The Heights won Best Musical Show Album. Big congrats to the cast!!

Some of the performance I saw were pretty good too. I loved the Al Greene, JT, Keith Urban, Boyz II Men, intro. The Grammys had a lot of oldies music going on, which of course I appreciated. I'm not sad that I missed Miley or the Jo(Blo) Bros. They annoy me, and I don't think they can sing. There I said it. Done.

The Grammys were all right this year. I didn't agree with some...a lot, of the winners but the only one that truly mattered went my way. Go see the Tony and Grammy winning musical In The Heights.

On to The L Word...

We're half way through the final season of The L Word, and I'm not the impressed. Especially after last night's episode. It wasn't a bad episode, but it didn't feel like it was the 4th of only 8 in the series finale. I felt like that episode could have been anywhere in the series and had the same impact. Which was none.

First, Rose Rollins was absolutely gorgeous, as usual. She seemed to be glowing a little bit to me in this episode. Maybe she just looked happy for once. I don't know.

Second, not a fan of Jamie. I didn't mind Jamie in last week's episode, but that was before Alice and Tasha started to like her. It's funny though. You can tell that both Alice and Tasha have a thing for her, and not in just a friendly way, but what they like about her is what they like about each other. What I mean is, Jamie is basically a complete combination of the two characters. Complete! She is the differences of Tasha and Alice in one person. What do I think it means? It means that Alice and Tasha are perfect for each other and Ilene needs to stop playing and keep them together! Done.

Third, fan of Marcy. I really liked the story with Bette and Tina this episode. Especially whenever they were around Marcy. I liked the part when Marcy's father asked if they were married and Bette's response when she found out he meant to a man. Classic, and well played by Ms. Beals.

I was soooooo happy I didn't have to see Jodi in this episode. I am so over her character. I NEVER liked her character to begin with. Ever. She was on this show way too long in my opinion. It wasn't Marlee Matlin, I don't mind her, but I hated her character.

I thought Shane was going to beat the shit out of Jenny for changing her room. I would have. Jenny is so clueless. I know a lot of people hate her character but actually don't. At least I haven't yet. The most I've ever come to hating her was actually in last week's episode. It was when Alice came over and Jenny was giving her "advice" for her treatment. I was ready to jump through the screen and punch her for what she was saying. But at the same time, it was just Jenny being Jenny. She was trying to protect herself. But I still hated her there.
*And btw, the scene before that was by far my favorite scene. Well, after Alice and Tasha first have sex, but other that that it was my favorite. Leisha Hailey played that scene so well. It was perfect. Her face. Her reactions. Priceless.*

Overall, not impressed with this season. I will be even less impressed when they break-up Alice and Tasha. But I know its going to happen so I'm just trying to brace myself for it. Long live Talice!

I know this was a long one today, so forgive me, but it was a long Sunday.

Until tomorrow.

happy birthday janet Dacal

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET DACAL!

Today is Janet Dacal's birthday, so I just wanted to wish her the biggest happy birthday ever.

For those who don't know her, you need to get to know her. She plays Carla in the amazing Broadway musical "In The Heights." It's a fantastic musical and everyone should go see it. It takes place in Washington Heights, NY and follows the main character, Usnavi, on hot day in July. The cast is outstanding, as is the music. It has a very urban feel to it that will make you want to get up and start dancing. Definitely go check it out. It's in New York at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in Manhattan.

If you can't make it to NY, check out their myspace page. It'll give you some of the sights and sounds that is "In The Heights."

slumdog millionaire is Amazing

So, I went and saw Slumdog Millionaire last night with my friends. I went in to the movie with sort of low expectations. I knew it had won best film (drama) at SAG and the Golden Globes, but award show don't mean much to me anymore. There are plenty of movies that have won best film that I thought sucked, so I was a little nervous going into this one thinking it was all just hype.

Was I ever wrong!

This film was absolutely AMAZING! No doubt one of the best movies I've seen ever, especially in recent years. It way exceeded my expectations. I figured it would be good, but had no idea it would be that good. Everyone should definitely go see it. And please support it by seeing it in the movie theatre and not watching a bootleg version. It's definitely worth the money to see it!

The acting was amazing, especially by the little kids. We see the three main characters in three stages of their lives, 6-7 years old, 13-14, and later around 18-19. The child who played the main character Jamal (Ayush Mahesh Khedekar) at his youngest age was outstanding. He deserves some major kudos on this one. And the actors who played the oldest Jamal (Dev Patel) and Latika (Frieda Pinto) were fantastic, as well.

It's an amazing film! Go see it!

Until tomorrow.

i love thursday Nights

Thursday night TV is the best. All my favorite shows are on. None of them overlap, at least not any more. And most importantly, I get to see Gabrielle Anwar in a sarong and bikini.

We start the night with Bones at 8. I am a big Bones fan but didn't actually start watching it until last summer, but I'm all caught up on the eps now so I consider myself a true Bones fan. The show is so well written, and the chemistry from the actors is really good. And Emily Deschanel is hot.

This episode we finally find out who the Grave Digger is and it turns out to be a woman. And a lame one at that. I wasn't that excited to find out who it was. I actually thought that part of the story lacked something. I mean we've seen this character a couple times before and then all of a sudden we know who it is because of some broken ribs. Come on.

But the episode itself was really good. Booth gets kidnapped by the Grave Digger and then with the help of a ghost escapes. Sounds cheesy but it was good.

At 9, we have Grey's Anatomy. It use to be CSI but with the departure of Jorja Fox and William Petersen, there just really isn't that much there anymore. That actually leads to one of my biggest rants. I HATE when main characters leave a show and they try to continue with the show as if its the same. It's not. Stop the show while your still ahead. Please.

Anyways, Grey's was really good. Two things that annoyed me:

1) Bailey. Chandra Wilson can't act. She's bad. She over acts the hell out of her character. It's annoying, and everytime she is on screen all I can think about is her bad acting.

2) Well, I guess there was only one thing.

I loved the end when Dr. Arizona Robbins kisses Torres. I liked Jessica Capshaw (Robbins) since the first time she appeared on the show, and had no idea she was going to be gay. But I liked her approach last night. Should be interesting. If they actually keep her character that is. TV has this thing about lesbians being on shown. They don't like them, and its really annoying.

The cross-over with Private Practice should be interesting. I use to watch PP last year but hadn't been able to get into it this year, which is really a shame. Three words: Kate Walsh hotness. That's all I have to say about that.

The most important part of Thursday night television is what happens at 10 on USA Network. BURN NOTICE! Burn Notice is one of the best new shows I've seen in a while. It is so clever and the acting is stellar. And what I really like, besides Gabrielle Anwar, is that they didn't go looking for these big-named, young stars. I think the youngest cast member is 39. They got actors who can act, despite their age. It's a nice change. Did I mention how hot Gabrielle Anwar is? Well, she is.

Overall, it was a good Thursday night on TV. I look forward to next week.

Until tomorrow.

the First

Today is my first day of blogging online. I usually write things to myself just on my computer, but thought I would give this a try. I'm not expecting people to read it, or care, but wanted to try something new. A little about myself. I just graduated from the University of Georgia. I majored in Telecommunications, aka Film and Television Production. UGA has this weird reason for calling it something it's not, but whatever. I like movies, tv, and the good music. I'm shy but I talk a lot around my friends. I'm mostly a ranter, so I'll probably be spending most of my time ranting about useless things.

So, to start it off, I'm going to rant about the girls I see walking around on campus with short skirts in 20 degree weather. Do I really need to say more? They know it's cold. We know, they know it's cold. My rule is: If you can see your breath, we shouldn't be seeing your legs. Now, I'm all for a short skirt in the spring or summer, maybe even early fall, but not the middle of winter. Cover it up, ladies. Cover it up. It's not cute, and it makes you look stupid. I promise it does. We think your stupid for wearing next to nothing in the middle of winter. Just don't.

I think that's a good place to begin and end for the first day.

Until tomorrow.
Peace
